I saw a really big Buddha today. And a smiley Buddha. And lots of very skinny Buddhist kitty cats (ascetic kitties?). And then many smaller Buddhas. And then some human Buddha-wannabes. Lots of tourists were pointing their feet at the Buddha. Stupid tourists. Laura knew better. Oh, Laura knew. Though Laura did get sorta screwed when she bought a purse yesterday and didn't bargain well. Stupid tourist Laura.
This is Jekky's street and the view from the back porch of her apartment where I'm staying in Bangkok. I think I'll probably stay with her until Sunday and then leave Monday morning to take a train north. She invited me to a Thai cooking class that she teaches every Sunday night. Should be fun, but little does she know I'm going to burn the kitchen down with my lack o' skills. Once I leave the city and get into more rural areas, I'm not sure how often I'll be able to update, but fret not! More will come in time.
Ciao babies.
I think it is wonderful that you are seeing so much of a different culture. Learn all you can.
ReplyDeleteA Centurytel technician came to the house today and got rid of my old modum and the other box I had and gave me a new one that combined both and allows me to get the faster speed I have been paying for but not getting. He checked to make sure the computer was working right and we checked the netflix too and had to reset that while he was here. Chris really helped get this done right away. He made some phone calls to people he knew and it happened faster than it would have. They also found that Platteville had not been updated with new stuff for a while and that will happen to. They have me to thank for that :) The problem was with them and not my computer.
Enjoy the weather! We are getting about 6 inches of snow today. It is beautiful. I took the day off so that I could be home when my computer was fixed. Good thing I did a) so I was here when the tech came and b) didn't have to drive in this S---. Love you, mom
